When Antiques Roadshow visited Newcastle Civic Centre one of the most exciting items of the day was when a sketch by Norman Cornish was shown by a man who's grandparents purchased the sketch many years ago.
When Antiques Roadshow visited Newcastle Civic Centre one of the most exciting items of the day was when a sketch by Norman Cornish was shown by a man who's grandparents purchased the sketch many years ago. With this specific sketch Norman had in fact also created the frame! The piece was very conservatively valued at between £3000 and £5000.

This sketch itself was an early exploration of what would become the incredible "Busy Bar Scene" which used to hang in the boardroom of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries and depicts a Spennymoor pub in the 50s and 60s.
