Michael Portillo met with John Cornish at Spennymoor Town Council.
As part of the filming for a future series of Great British Railway Journeys exploring Britain’s history in the early 20th century, Michael Portillo met with John Cornish at Spennymoor Town Council to learn more about the artist Norman Cornish, his life and work and his connection with the Spennymoor Settlement during the 1930s and beyond.
Cornish Centenary
Throughout the centenary year, an interesting range of themed exhibitions is planned in order to commemorate Norman’s life and to celebrate his work.
